WELCOME
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Steering Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to register for the fourth edition of the Advances In mRNA Science (AIMS) meeting that is back at the Sofitel Hotel in Melbourne, November 20 and 21. Since its inception in 2022 the AIMS Meeting has quickly established itself as the premier forum introducing Australian Researchers and Clinicians to the transformative potential of RNA-based vaccines and therapeutics. The independent Steering Committee have again recruited outstanding speakers for an informative, provocative and educational meeting.
This year the meeting will run under the authority of a newly formed RNA4health, Society established by the Steering Committee to expand upon foundation support from Moderna and now includes sponsorship from most of the major commercial supporters of RNA technologies, including BioNTech, Sanofi, Arcturus, CSL Seqirus, and others. Registration will include an honorary inaugural membership of the RNA Network APAC for Health, Society (RNA4health).
The fourth iteration of the meeting in 2025 promises to build on this strong foundation, highlighting the latest in the science and technology along with the emerging clinical applications and real-world health impacts that are beginning to materialise in Australia and APAC regions. The program will commence at 12.30pm on Thursday afternoon 20th November 2025 with a session focused on new horizons for RNA medicines with an opening keynote presentation from Prof. Andy Gaell, who is Board Chair of “Alliance for mRNA Medicines” and co-founder and CDO of Replicate Biosciences, and former CSO of Precision Nanosystems who will report on advocacy in the USA for health applications using RNA and the progress of self-amplifying RNA products. The first afternoon will look at the uptake of RNA as a medical modality in the APAC region and showcase a variety of successful new applications at the frontier of mRNA medicines.
All registered attendees are invited to an evening networking dinner at the Sofitel meeting venue where CSIRO Director Prof. Doug Hilton AO will discuss Australia’s opportunity for leadership in RNA technology and medicines.
On Friday 21 November the meeting continues with a series of presentations and panel discussions from leaders in the wider development of mRNA vaccines and therapeutics for a diverse array of medical needs. Presentations will be cutting edge, engaging and interactive and appeal to Physicians, Academics, Community Implementation Scientists and Policy Makers and Researchers who are interested in the application of mRNA science for future vaccines and therapeutics across multiple medical disciplines.
This fourth AIMS meeting in 2025 will continue the collegial and inspiring format enjoyed by all who attended the earlier editions, but with deeper connection to the manufacturers and commercial entities active in the APAC region. We look forward to welcoming you again this year.
Professor Damian Purcell
Chair, AIMS Steering Committee 2025
