Adam Nelson is an interventional cardiologist and clinical trialist dual-appointed to the Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals in addition to the University of Adelaide and the Victorian Heart Institute. Adam’s academic and clinical interests are in improving adoption of guidelines through implementation science and evaluating emerging therapies for dyslipidaemia, diabetes and obesity.

Dr Terri-Lynne South holds advanced degrees in both nutrition and medicine and brings over 25 years of experience as a medical practitioner to the table. Her passion lies in metabolic health, where she aims to provide a comprehensive health service grounded in both evidence and extensive experience.  Dr South offers profound knowledge in managing diabetes, cardiovascular health, menopause, and weight loss. She is adept at identifying and mitigating the risks associated with long-term health issues that can affect health and lifestyle.  Understanding the significance of a holistic approach, Dr South champions the synergy of a multidisciplinary team—including the patient—in achieving lasting health outcomes.

Dr Gus (Augustine) Mugwagwa
Cardiologist Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital

Gus is a clinical cardiologist with expertise in multi-modality cardiac imaging (echocardiography, cardiac MRI and CT coronary angiography). Gus is passionate about providing holistic, patient centred care that is aimed at preventing cardiovascular disease and improving cardiovascular patients’ outcomes in a collaborative model with other clinicians. He is a Staff Specialist Cardiologist at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. Gus completed his basic physician training and cardiology advanced training at Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide and was awarded FRACP as a cardiologist in 2018. Thereafter, he completed cardiac imaging fellowships in advanced echocardiography at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and overseas in cardiac MRI at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, United Kingdom. He is also an Australia and New Zealand Level A accredited specialist for CT coronary angiography. Gus manages a wide range of cardiovascular diseases with an enhanced focus on integrating multi-modality cardiac imaging in clinical care. He also has special interests in preventive cardiology.
